Stannersford – Staffordshire was historically a major market town. It has been called as the “metropolises” of England. For centuries, it has served as a center for wool, cloth, metal, and iron. The town started out as a clay pigeon ash trading post. The amphitheatre of Stannersford was one of the first known public houses.


There are many interesting sites including: Stannersford Priory, Holkham Church, King’s Chapel, and Stannersford Lye Station. They all speak of Stannersford as a place of pilgrimage. People from far and wide to visit this town. It is a place to be proud of when visiting Staffordshire.

As I mentioned earlier, Stannersford was one of the biggest clay pigeon ash trading posts. When they were first established, there were more than four thousand workers. This gave this town an economy that could support much of its trade. Many times, during the peak season, there were seven thousand visitors.

There were two hotels in Stannersford. The earliest one was built in the year eleven hundred by Thomas Burch. It was called the Burch’s Hotel. In the middle of the thirteenth century, another hotel was built by John Burch. It is known as the John Burch Hotel. Today, the Old Market Hall is a famous history museum

Stannersford had a reputation for being a center for education. There are several colleges in and around the town. Thomas Burch founded the college of Stannersford. Later on, Samuel Pepys and others also founded other colleges in the area. They are today part of the University of Stannersford.

While living in Stannersford, you will find that there are many places to shop. There is the Stannersford Central Shopping Centre. It has many stores and restaurants. Stannersford also has a pier and there are many amusements nearby. For those that are fond of fishing, the River Stannersford offers twelve miles of Riverside.

There are many places of interest. The Stannersford Priory Church is a beautiful old church. John Burch College is located there. The birthplace of Richard Branson, R.I.P., is nearby. And, George Washington Homes is nearby.

If you are interested in historical homes, then the Stannersford Heritage Center and Gardens may be a good place for you. In addition, you can visit the Stannersford Museum. If you love nature, you will enjoy walking in the Stannersford National Park. And, while you are there, you might like to visit the Maritime Museum. All in all, it is an excellent place to live.

If shopping is not your thing, and there are other activities in Stannersford, you will find plenty of things to do. If you like to fish, then you are in luck. Stannersford is known as a great fishing location. In addition, you will find that there are lots of boat clubs in Stannersford, which will allow you to enjoy many activities while you are on your vacation.

Stannersford is a small town, but it is a beautiful one. It is home to the annual Stannersford Christmas Show. The Christmas Show includes Santa Claus, elves and other fantastic characters. You will find that there is always plenty of fun in this charming town.

As with any small town, there are some drawbacks. Perhaps one of the worst parts of Stannersford would be the lack of transportation. You can drive around the entire city, but it is much more convenient to take public transportation.

However, if you take your car, there are plenty of great sights to see. There is the Stannersford Cathedral, which was destroyed during World War II. The rebuilt cathedral is breathtaking. Besides, even if you don’t want to go to the Cathedral, you should definitely go to the Reible Gardens.

If you are looking for a family friendly place to visit, then you should definitely check out Stannersford. There are plenty of things to do for kids, and they love the Reible Gardens, too. The Garden has several different kinds of rides, including roller coasters, and wild water rides. The park is located next to a small town called Easthaven, which is about a three hour drive from Stannersford. You will be glad that you took the time to check out Stannersford, and I know that you will also be impressed by the beautiful views and scenery.
